The inaugural ABW Golf Tournament conducted on Thursday, October 21st at North Fulton Golf Course (Chastain Park) in Atlanta was an overwhelming success as noted by the players and sponsors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the ABW college scholarship fund. Workday was the Presenting sponsor, with Southern Company as the Diamond sponsor. Golfers enjoyed a challenging round of golf with networking opportunities, gifts, prizes, an auction, beverages and meals during the day, plus a wonderful golfers’ BBQ reception. Participants were excited to learn their driver swing statistics on the first tee including clubhead speed and distance, compliments of Trackman, similar to pro modeling on telecasts.All golfers and sponsors will receive a discount to the spring 2022 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup banquet at the College Football Hall of Fame. ABW Board Chair Steve Petyerak said, “ABW rewards athletic character through both our Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup and Vince Dooley Awards & Scholarships events, plus we encourage athletic character through our curriculum. Now, we have an annual event where character, sportsmanship, and fellowship are on full display to be enjoyed by our patrons.” Petyerak thanked the other generous sponsors at the morning’s photo session including Gold sponsors Huron Consulting Group, IBM, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Shelton McNally Real Estate Partners, Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, and Tioga Capital, plus paid tribute to the Silver sponsors Alight and TopBloc.
