Athletes for a Better World announces Board appointments

Board Chairman Steve Petyerak

Athletes for a Better World (ABW) Board Chairman Steve Petyerak announced recent Board Director appointments.  “The additions to the Board represent a remarkable blend of subject matter experts who will help expand our mission to teach and reward athletic character,” said Petyerak.  ABW amplifies its “Code for Living” in its character curriculum, and then confers awards through the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup, and the Vincent J. Dooley Awards & Scholarships program.

The new Board Directors are:

  • Alex Bush of Merrill Lynch
  • Kim Coleman of Halftime Sports
  • Alfred Dowe of United Way of Greater Atlanta
  • Christine Hornak, Private Athletics Instructor
  • Mark Kovacs of the Kovacs Institute
  • Malani Lee of the Orlando Magic
  • Ron Mansfield of Dream Network LLC
  • Matt Miller of Sterling Seacrest Partners
  • Angie Newell of Anew Management Group
  • Zac Stafford of Workday

Petyerak continued, “These dedicated individuals will fuel our eleven working Committees in the areas of marketing, finance, governance, fundraising, and event management.  Our newest creation is the Young Professionals Committee, ensuring a steady influx of volunteers and leadership for the future of ABW.”
