The Oscars and The Code

There has been a lot of discussion about the Oscars – who would win what?   Some people think Hollywood is always praising itself, giving out awards in so many categories that it is all just an exercise in self-congratulating.  What do you think about giving out awards?  Should a young kid get a reward just for “participating?”  Or, should the satisfaction of doing your best and being a part of a team be reward enough?  In your sport, what awards would you give out for your team?  What does the Code say about this?  We think the Code offers a guideline by its three sections:  individual, team, and society.  What about an award for the best individual athlete, the best teammate, and the best representative of the team in the community?
