Rosalynn Carter and the Code

I hope everyone has read the tributes to Rosalynn Carter, who died a few days ago. While a person would have to be well over 50 years old to remember when she was the first Lady, her life of service should not be forgotten. She was a champion of many causes, especially mental health and women’s causes. She was a key person in many efforts including the establishment of the Carter Center in Atlanta, in Every Child By Two, and in Habitat for Humanity in which she and her husband were instrumental in its early days. The Code says, “I will give… as I am able…for the betterment of my community and world.” She certainly did that, and in doing so became a role model for all. What can you learn from her life of service? Is there any one area of possible service in your life that is of particular interest to you?
