Thanksgiving and the Code

At Thanksgiving it’s natural to focus on our families and our country. One of the things that is true is that we are a part of many teams in addition to our sports teams or family team – our school team, our community team and our country team. We may be a part of many other teams as well – the band, boys or girl scouts, and many kinds of service teams: a feeding program, a housing program, or an after school tutoring program. It’s easy to take for granted all the people who are a part of our teams, but as we come to Thanksgiving it’s a good time to think about these teams, and to thank those who are a part of them. Like all teams, it’s not just the leader or the “star” who makes the teams successful, it’s all of the others who together make the team. Who are some people that you can take a moment to say “thank you” to this week? Why not make a list, and see how many people you can thank? The Code says, “I will be a positive influence on the relationships on the team.” It’s a habit to work on all year!
