Springtime and the Code

With the warm temperatures of spring, and the end of the school year approaching, there is always a temptation for “spring fever” to take hold. It is hard to continue to focus on the tasks left to complete with the lure of the outside and the freedom of summer beckoning. What does the Code have to say about this? In sports we talk about “finishing” a game, doing the best during the final period or quarter of a game when there is the temptation to give up or to coast, depending on the score. The Code, of course, talks about “making our best effort” and “conducting ourselves in an honorable way” and “being a positive influence on others.” In what ways are you tempted to coast home, or to give less than your best effort? What are some steps you can take to overcome this temptation?
